Terry Johnson is the founder of Piper Fire Protection. He has more than thirty-five years of experience in all areas of fire protection. In addition to being President of Piper Fire Protection for the last sixteen years, he has been superintendent for two very large fire protection companies, including Suncoast Fire Protection in Pinellas Park, FL, and Grinnell Fire Protection in Detroit, MI. Terry currently holds a State of Florida Class 2 license.

Chris Johnson is the President and CEO of Piper Fire Protection. Chris is a NICET certified fire protection engineer who has attained Level III certification in Fire Sprinkler Design, and is waiting certification as Level II in both Special Hazards and Fire Alarm Engineering. Chris holds a State of Florida Class 1 and Class 2 license for fire protection and has acquired a Fire Equipment Dealer's License for pre-engineered systems. Presently, Chris acts as project manager for Piper Fire Protection's larger installation, service, and inspection projects. Chris is a High Piled Storage specialist as well as our Anechoic Chamber specialist. Chris attends continuing education courses throughout the year.


Edward "Mac" McGaffagan is our Fire Sprinkler Service and Inspection Division Manager. Mac has more than ten years exclusive experience in inspecting fire protection systems. Mac specializes in training maintenance personnel to meet NFPA requirements for weekly and monthly inspections. Mac is a certified property manager and from this perspective he has been very successful in working with building management to develop comprehensive fire protection testing and maintenance plans.


Mark Stoefen is our Fire Alarm Division Manager. Mark has fifteen years of experience working with electronic fire alarm equipment. Mark is NICET certified and a member of AFAA (Automatic Fire Alarm Association). Mark is familiar with Edwards, FCI, Firelite, Pyrotronics, Kidde, Notifier, Simplex, ADT, and Silent Knight fire alarm control panels and devices. Mark attends continuing education courses throughout the year.


Ben Ward is our Fire Suppression and Extinguisher Division Manager. Ben has over 20 years working with fire extinguishers and suppression systems. Ben is the current license holder for portable fire extinguishers and manages our portable fire extinguisher service and maintenance as well as our installation and service of pre-engineered and engineered automatic fire suppression equipment. He is a member and attends regular seminars and classes offered by the Florida Fire Equipment and Dealers Association.

With 23 years of solid, continuous construction experience and a mechanical engineering background, Dimitri Fotopoulos handles contract analysis, review, negotiation & execution, ensuring compliance with laws, statutes, regulations, codes, corporate policies, and business procedures. Dimitri manages the Safety and Risk aspects of our work, including procurement of bid, payment & performance bonds, review of insurance requirements, and works to transfer and/or minimize risk, and improve all aspects of our safety. Dimitri also works with our project managers and estimators, providing oversight for the projects of various divisions at Piper Fire that are construction specific, including contract & initial accounting set up, legal notices & liens, CCIP insurance management and CCIP Payroll Reports, billing, and ongoing project management, tracking, and review.
