Piper Fire Executive Team

The Johnson Family

Piper Fire Protection is known for being a family oriented company, only recently was this changed when Piper joined the Fortis Fire team. Still to this day, employees are treated like family, but so are our customers. This stems from beginning as a family-owned and operated company when Mr. Terry Johnson started the company back in 1986. Over the years, the Johnson family has grown right along with the Piper family, both of which have evolved into the company you know today- employees delivering exceptional customer service and treating everyone with respect. We pride ourselves on our reliability, integrity, value, quality, advocacy, courtesy, giving back, education and training within our community. Know that when you hire Piper to handle your life safety needs, you are now part of our family and we will treat you as such.

Terry Johnson- Founder, Piper Fire:

Mr. Johnson, also known as “Mr. J”, founded Piper Fire in 1986 after working for other fire protection companies for more than twenty years in the Midwest and here in Florida. He began his career in the Midwest as a sprinkler apprentice and continued on his career path as a journeyman, foreman, and superintendent, learning at each step. Once he moved to central Florida, his work as a sprinkler fitter, service technician and superintendent prepared him to open his own shop focused on servicing and inspecting fire protection systems, first on the beaches and eventually expanding to include west central Florida. His work ethic gave Piper Fire the reputation for honesty and integrity that continues today. Mr. Johnson currently holds a State of Florida Class 2 Fire Protection Contractor’s license and attends training classes annually.
