ABOUT Piper fire protection

Piper Gives Back
Here at Piper Fire Protection, being a good neighbor is a vital piece of our philosophy. We know that our long-term achievement is directly linked to the success of not only our customers, but also the entirety of the communities we live and serve. Through the rapport we build with local nonprofits, by way of volunteer activities, we’re trying to take part in strengthening the communities in which we operate.
We pay it forward because we wouldn’t have gotten here without a little help along the way. We give our time, energy and resources to support our community and have a great time doing it.

Side-by-Side Burn Demo

Piper Fire created a Side-by-Side Burn Demo to display at local community events hosted by fire houses around the Tampa Bay area. The structure consists of two rooms-one is protected by a fire sprinkler system, the other is not.

Then, with the help of the local fire station, the demo is set on fire for the attendees to see first hand the difference between a protected and unprotected structure. The protected side efficiently suppresses the fire while the unprotected side burns and needs assistance from the fire station to fully suppress the fire.

The Children’s Burn Foundation of Florida

Our Annual Footgolf Tournament, taking place in early summer, produces thousands of dollars in donations every year! The event helps to raise money to benefit the Children’s Burn Foundation of Florida, which provides support for child burn survivors, who have suffered burn-related injuries. As of 2022, Piper has donated almost $50,000 to the organization – and we will continue this for as long as we can!

The Children’s Burn Foundation seeks to address not only the victim’s physical injuries themselves, but the psychological and emotional trauma that have burdened said victim’s in the wake of their tragedy. By supporting this foundation, Piper hopes to be part of the fight to give these children their lives back and give them back their dreams of a better tomorrow!

Footgolf is played with a soccer ball in a golf format. Teams of 4-6 people pay a fee to play holes at Largo golf course. There is live music, drinks, prizes, raffles, and much more! Each team is encouraged to dress up as a certain team type, and compete against other teams to become the Piper Footgolf champion! One of our signature events of the year, Footgolf has grown increasingly popular amongst our offices for the better part of 8 years now!

For many years, Piper has been involved in Habitat for Humanity, to help build and renovate affordable housing for struggling, low-income, families and individuals. The organization, itself, is dedicated to the vision that everyone should have a place to live and are treated without discrimination as to their particular situation.

By being part of that vision, Piper helps to give homes to those in need!

OneBlood

Twice a year, our employees selflessly sign up to donate their blood when the big red OneBlood bus comes to our campus! Each event draws at least 20 people from Piper with each blood drive attracting more donors than the next.

Be A Santa to a Senior

The Be A Santa To A Senior effort, started through Home Instead Senior Care, partners with local non-profit and community organizations to identify seniors who might not otherwise receive gifts this holiday season. The company then works with local businesses and retail stores to help facilitate the purchase and distribution of gifts by placing trees and ornaments within their various locations.

Piper Fire has collected monetary donations from their employees, shopped for seniors at local assisted living facilities for items such as bath wash, deodorant and new socks. We have been able to provide a gifts to seniors who may not have had any otherwise!

These charitable acts only touch the surface of the many causes Piper Fire Protection has supported in the past. The list goes on with consideration to the American Cancer Society, Post Foundation, Suncoast Hospice, Hearts Across Pinellas, Pinellas Park Firefighters Chili Blaze, Resurrection House and the Central Pinellas Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund, just to name a few.

Piper Gives Back also encourages help for employee families internally, providing opportunities to help fundraise when we can. Whenever particularly distressful times arise, we are there to give our support, because we know that giving back to our community includes caring for our employee families as well.

Fortis Family of Brands

Local expertise, national strength
The best of both — in every market we serve.

Trust is built locally. It lives in the technician who knows your building, knows your local codes, and shows up when something goes wrong at midnight. It lives in the relationship between a fire protection company and the community it has served for decades.

But capability is built at scale. The training standards, the technical resources, the purchasing power, the shared knowledge of a unified national organization — these are the things that make a local provider exceptional rather than merely adequate.

Fortis was built on this belief.

Our network of regionally rooted fire and life safety companies delivers genuine local expertise in every market we serve — technicians who know the regional AHJs, the local codes, and the specific demands of the facilities in their community. Behind each of them stands the full weight of a premier national organization.

You build. You create. You push the world forward.
‍We protect it all.
