July 4th Fire Protection

July 4th – Fires, Sparklers, Candles, Rockets, oh my! It’s a time for celebration and history. Piper Fire wishes everyone a Safe and Fun 4th of July celebration. We recommend you keep a hand held residential Fire Extinguisher on hand at all times, you can pick one up at any local home improvement store for around $20. Another, less expensive idea, is to have your water hose or a bucket ready to go during your Fireworks extravaganza. All lighters and matches should be held and used by responsible adults, no children should ever come in contact with used or unused matches or sparklers. Designate a water bucket or safe place to store used fireworks, especially hand held products that could be difficult to see in the dark.

Don’t be a statistic:

In 2010, fireworks caused an estimated 15,500 reported fires, including 1,100 total structure fires, 300 vehicle fires, and 14,100 outside and other fires.
